I am so excited to share this weeks blog and feature Taylor and Kyle’s Hummingbird Hill Farms Wedding! This wedding day was filled with pure joy and butterflies. It was so apparent how much fun Kyle and Taylor had together, which is exactly how it should be.
Let’s start at the beginning.
Taylor and I first met over a phone consultation and instantly I knew this was a couple I wanted to photograph. After chatting about the wedding I was so ready to work with them, and luckily Taylor felt the same way.
“Photography was one of the most important pieces of our wedding day. I searched and searched for the “perfect” photographer”, Taylor shared. “Our first phone call was so refreshing and I immediately felt like I was talking to an old friend.”
After I joined team Taylor and Kyle, they decided that they wanted to do their engagement session at their wedding venue, which I always love getting to do! It gives the couple a chance to be at their venue more than once, and as a photographer, I can do some extra scouting for the best places to take photos on the wedding day.
Now, fast forward to wedding day.
Right from the start, I was amazed by the beautiful details and color palette Taylor had chosen. After taking detail photos, I spent time with the women as Taylor finished getting ready. I love getting to capture candid moments during this time and then also those final “glam shots” of the bride before heading out to start the day!
Dressed and ready, Taylor began her first looks. She had a sweet moment with her dad, showed off for her girls, and finally headed outside to Kyle! These are always some of my favorite parts of the day. You get to see the love for the bride through the eyes of everyone who is closest to her. After giving Taylor and Kyle some time to soak in the “We’re getting MARRIED” feeling, we started on their bridal portraits.
We really showcased their venue as a backdrop for their portraits. I know that my couples select their venue for specific reasons, and want to make sure it’s shown off in their photos. That way, they can relive their day throughout the years!
From the reception building, the gorgeous outdoor ceremony space, and the white open air chapel, everywhere we looked was just breathtaking. After their portraits, we captured the bridal party and family. And psst, I know that men don’t always love photos, but I promise I will make it easy!
I adored my time with Taylor and Kyle and I’m overjoyed that she felt similarly. “Working with Darian is by far one of the best wedding planning decisions you could ever make! She is so great to work with through the entire wedding process”, Taylor said. “Not only did she capture our wedding day perfectly, she helped keep me calm and collected throughout the day. She was great with the groom and groomsmen, too!”
They tied the knot, then it was party time.
After they said “I Do”, We had the chance to capture some of their reception details, which were so fun! I LOVED their personalized koozies featuring their dog, the groom’s cake, and the most beautiful elevated floral centerpieces! They had a blast at their reception with friends and family, before Taylor did an outfit change for their grand exit. She came out in the cutest mini frilly and white dress for their sparkler exit! Trust me, sparkler exits never disappoint!
As always, I could barely contain my excitement when I sent off their finished gallery.
“I was completely and utterly blown away. Our wedding pictures are something we will cherish for the rest of our lives”, said Taylor. “The pictures we took right after our ceremony stick out in my mind, because Darian was able to perfectly capture all of the love and joy we were both feeling during that moment. Looking at those pictures takes me immediately back to that moment in time.”
