Darian, where are we going to take our pictures? My friend, I promise finding a location doesn’t have to be hard! As a natural light film photographer, I believe it’s all about that delicious light, and the location is a bonus! Below are a few things to think about when choosing the best place for your session.
Think about the meaning of a specific location. Why is the tree in the front yard so special to you? Why do you love going to the same coffee shop every weekend? What reminds you of each other even when they are not around?
Some examples:
- Your fiance’s family has a lot of land with this beautiful oak tree right in the center. That same oak tree has your names carved into it from the first night he brought you to meet his family.
- You met each other on your routine coffee stop one morning and hit it off. Now when you go into that coffee shop you get this warm fuzzy feeling inside.
- You’ve known each other since you were little and remember always playing tag around the neighborhood you grew up in.
What is something you love to do together? Consider staying in baking a pizza. Pack up the dogs for a hike. Meaningful places don’t have to be a place you’ve been before. They can be related to something you love doing.
