Today I want to talk to you guys about this destination styled shoot I attended at Walnut Hill in Raleigh, NC that Adorn Collective hosted! If you don’t know what a styled shoot is, it is where a team of vendors typically get together to create a wedding or elopement that they have a vision for, and then photographers capture it. This is something that local vendors can get together to do and trade services for so that everyone has photos for marketing purposes. Styled shoots can also be hosted by someone and then photographers get tickets to come and photograph the shoot, and then can use it for their own marketing purposes.
A reason that I love workshops and styled shoots so much is that it is just like having professional development in any other type of job! As someone who works from home and doesn’t have coworkers or a traditional 9-5 job, it’s still important for me to do things that help me grow as a photographer and business owner, and get fresh creativity and inspiration! I love photographing curated shoots and getting to see all of the little details that go into creating inspiration for future brides. It’s also great to work with wonderful vendor teams and fun to shoot in new locations and venues!
This styled shoot hosted by Adorn Creative Workshops, stood out to me the most. I loved the vision board that she had created for the shoot. I had heard a lot of good things about their styled shoots, and I was excited to attend!
Walnut Hill is absolutely beautiful.
I loved getting to capture photos of the property grounds. The florals were absolutely beautiful. I loved the floral installation that the florist had done at the ceremony space! The flatlay items are always a favorite of mine to play around with. I loved the vintage books included in these details.
It’s always great working with models to help grow and learn. It’s even better that Adorn Creative hand selected “models” that are married in real life! Again, the florist knocked it out of the park with the bridal bouquet. They are the perfect summery colors.
During this styled shoot we captured bridal portraits, but also had a small “ceremony” that we were able to photograph. Complete with an adorable dog! After, we all had a chance to get more portraits of the couple. We also were able to photograph a small “reception”. Then, the bride had a little outfit change to fit the party vibes and cake cutting!
Again, I love getting to do things that add creativity to my job. I can take the refreshed energy and ideas and apply it to my couples in real life!
All of the vendors for this shoot were amazing! I loved working with each and every one of them and loved how smoothly everything came together. I’ve linked each of them below so that you can check them out yourself!
